Panel 2: Race & Media

Join New Path and the Memphis Urban League for the second forum in our 2008 Race Relations in Memphis panel series--Race & Media.  This discussion will be held Tuesday, March 11th from 5:30-7:30 at the Ben Hooks Central Library (3030 Poplar Ave. Mtng Room A).       

Race & Media will take a closer look at what role local media outlets play in determining race relations in Memphis & Shelby County, and how race factors into local media decisions impacting equal coverage, fair representations, and stereotypes.  Featured panelists include:  Chris Peck, Bruce VanWyngarden, Karanja Ajanaku, Emily Greene, and Leon Gray.  Our moderator, Richard Thompson will facilitate discussion among panelists and attendants to begin to determine how the community might address these issues and move forward.
