New Path Supports Betty Mallott for School Board

Betty Mallott is a candidate for Memphis City School Board, District 2. She has served as a board member for Volunteer Memphis, a mentor for the Connect Mentoring Program in Memphis City Schools and is a former PTO president for Ridgeway High School. Mrs. Mallott founded the Partnership for Advancement of Character Education (PACE) and is also responsible for the Healthy Choices initiative, now being taught in all Memphis city schools.

I want to be a part of improving public service in Memphis and I want to start with school board. At such an opportune time with the District 2 school board position now open for re-election, I would like to stress the importance of parents realizing that it is our responsibility to ensure that our children understand the significance and value of obtaining a relevant education. I firmly believe that establishing a conceptual framework that values family, schools and community working together is the key to addressing the educational issues facing the city of Memphis. The hope and excitement generated in these collaborative efforts lead me to believe that I can make a greater difference in this role.

We believe that Betty Mallott is that rare example of a candidate with excellent qualifications and passion for building a better Memphis. New Path firmly believes that Betty mirrors the type of knowledgeable, honest and committed leader needed to impact the political environment in Memphis and Shelby County in a positive way.
